Billiards and home theater options make finishing your basement a blast.  Large flat screen TVs and surround sound, home offices, home gyms, and play rooms are great in the basement tucked away from the main traffic flow of your home and left to be more casual in nature.

With people entertaining more at home, there is more interest in basement remodeling and basement finishing - even in a tough economy.  Many clients will buy a complete game room or home theater package, home gym set, or home office to capitalize on the savings created when you finish the basement versus adding an addition.  Basements significantly increase living space at a fraction of the cost of moving or adding on in other ways.

Young children can thrive in finished basements.  They can run and jump and yell and make a mess - all the things that enlist "no's" from the adults when upstairs.  Share the joy of discovering what an active body can do when there is space to play and grow and have fun.  Toys, loud music and singing, videos watched over and over again...no problem.  Don't forget other great basement favorites:  hide-n-seek, freeze tag, red light green light, pitching practice, putt putt golf, cards, socks in the basket, practicing musical instruments like that drum set grandma gave you!

Let a preschooler draw on the wall!  Install a chalk board area, write-n-wipe area, or other outside the box means for generating creative thinking and doing.  Craft centers are perfectly placed in a basement where they don't have to be locked down and put away each day.
